“Hommage,” a film by director Shin Su-won, will have a special screening at the 23rd Jeonju International Film Festival this year, the festival’s organization committee said Thursday.

The exhibition is called “Hommage: SHIN Su-won and Korean Women Directors” and will honor female directors and their notable works.

“Hommage” stars actor Lee Jung-eun, who is known for her role as the housekeeper Moon-gwang in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite” (2019) by director Bong Joon-ho.

"Hommage" was also screened at the Glasgow Film Festival 2022, 2022 Florence Korea Film Fest and the Tokyo International Film Festival 2021.

“Hommage” follows a female director in 2022 named Jiwan, played by Lee, who restores a film from 1962 by a different female filmmaker. She time travels back to the 1960s to recover some missing film footage and explores the art of cinema.

The 23rd edition of the festival will run from April 28 to May 7 in Jeonju, North Jeolla.

There will be two more special screenings at the event: “LEE Chang-dong: The Truth of the Invisible,” which dives into filmmaker Lee Chang-dong’s works, and “Legacy of Chungmuro, Taehung Pictures,” which commemorates Lee Tae-won, the founder of Korea’s leading film production and distribution company Taehung Pictures who died in October last year.
