A poster hung on a convenience store window notifies customers that it is not selling any Pokemon bread, in Seoul on Wednesday. The notification reads that stores only get three or fewer packs of the popular Pokemon pastry every day, yet every day some 150 people ask about it, reiterating that the store can’t place additional orders. The Japanese anime bread was relaunched by SPC Samlip on Feb. 24 this year after it stopped appearing on shelves in 2006. After just a week, 1.5 million pastries were sold, and in a month that figure surged to 7 million and in 40 days it broke 10 million. The bread made its debut in 1998 and has gained much popularity especially among young adults who grew up watching the anime. [YONHAP]
