Volkswagen Group Korea named Lynn Lim as the new head of Audi Korea, the Korean unit of the German carmaker said Monday.

Lim is both the first female and first Korean manager to lead the Audi brand since it entered the Korean market in 2004. The appointment will become effective on July 1.

“Korea is an important market for Volkswagen Group, and the change in the management comes as part of our efforts to strengthen Audi’s offensive and localization strategy in the premium market, which is in line with the headquarters’ movement,” Volkswagen Group Korea said in Monday’s release.

Lim joined the Volkswagen Group Korea in 2005 and served as the director of Audi Network. She then moved to China in February 2021 and has been serving as the head of the dealer network management team at FAW Audi Sales Company.

Lim’s strengths will help further “enhance the competitiveness of Audi as a premium brand through a clear understanding of the needs and preferences of Korean consumers,” the company said.

“As the first Korean to take on the leadership role at Audi Korea, I hope to contribute to building the foundation for sustainable growth of the Audi brand in the Korean market based on a thorough localization strategy, while internally focusing on creating more interactive organizational culture by enhancing communication with employees,” said Lim.

Jeff Mannering, the current managing director of Audi Korea, will move to Audi Australia as the brand director from Aug. 1.
