Korean movie theater chain Lotte Cinema will play the documentary “Song Hae 1927” in theaters from June 22 in memory of the veteran television presenter who passed away on June 8.

The documentary initially hit theaters in November 2021 and centers around behind-the-stage moments of Song Hae, who was one of the most respected figures in Korean television as well as Korea’s oldest television personality.

Song hosted KBS’s long-running weekly singing show “National Singing Contest” (1980-) for 35 years. He was named the “Oldest TV music talent show host” by the Guinness World Records in April.

Song passed away on June 8, aged 95.

“We want to celebrate 95 years of his life by reviewing moments from his life through this commemorative screening, which portrays his easygoing personality and his innermost thoughts,” Lotte Cinema stated.
