Asiana Airlines is now selling craft beer, offering the brew via CU and on flights.

The carrier is working with Korea Brewers Collective to create Asiana Hoppy Lager. It will be sold at CU branches nationwide starting Wednesday.

According to the airline, the beer has a fruity scent of ale and the refreshing taste of a lager.

The packaging comes with a “newtro” theme. Newtro is a portmanteau of the words new and retro that is used to describe a modern product with a retro feel. The company's past logo, used between 1988 and 2006, is printed on the beer can to add a retro vibe. The logo also features the cabin crew’s scarf pattern, which uses a common color combination used in hanbok, Korean traditional clothing.

“The launch of Asiana Hoppy Lager shows the airline’s anticipation of the resurgence of traveling demand,” said a spokesperson for Asiana Airlines. “We hope customers can experience the joy of traveling in their daily lives with the new beer.”

Following the introduction, the carrier will hold various promotions with CU. Customers can participate in a raffle event through CU’s mobile application, Pocket CU, after purchasing the craft beer, having a chance to win prizes such as a round-trip economy ticket to Europe and South East Asian countries.

The Asiana Hoppy Lager will be offered on all international flights.
