Hyundai Motor announced Wednesday that it has signed a contract to supply its first all-electric vehicle (EV), the Ioniq 5, to Japan’s MK Limousine and Taxi.

Hyundai Motor will supply 50 Ioniq 5 cars to MK Limousine and Taxi’s Kyoto headquarters starting in August. MK Limousine and Taxi will replace 50 of its 700 taxis in the Kyoto area with the EVs.

Hyundai Motor said the deal is “the first step into the Japanese electric vehicle market.”

In 1995, TIME magazine named MK Limousine and Taxi “the world’s best service company.”
