Export-Import Bank of Korea nominates bank's former chairman for next president
The Export-Import Bank of Korea, otherwise known as Eximbank, announced on Tuesday the nomination of Yoon Hee-sung, former vice chairman of the bank, to become Eximbank’s 22nd president.
This is the first time in Eximbank’s history for a person from within the bank to be nominated as president, since its establishment in 1976.
The president of Eximbank can only be appointed by the president of Korea after a proposal of appointment by the minister of economy and finance.
Yoon graduated from the Department of Economics at Seoul National University and obtained a master’s degree in public administration from the same university.
“We expect that Yoon, who has expertise in policy finance and international finance, will actively contribute to the national economy by providing the necessary expertise for external economic cooperation such as imports, exports and overseas investment,” said an official from Eximbank.
