Death toll from floods stands at 10 after missing man's body found

A firefighter searches inside a sewer in Seocho District for missing people Wednesday afternoon, after heavy rains flooded much of southern area of Seoul Monday evening. [WOO SANG-JO]

 
A man in his 40s who went missing after falling through a manhole in Seocho District, southern Seoul on Monday night was found dead Wednesday afternoon.
 
“We found the body of the missing person while searching inside the sewer,” said an official from the local fire department. The police plan to perform an autopsy on the body.
 
Heavy rain fell across the greater Seoul area from Monday to Tuesday, causing casualties, floods and congestion on roads across the city. 
 
The death toll from incidents related to the torrential rains now stands at 10.
