MLB World Tour to arrive in Korea for four games in November

The MLB World Tour will arrive in Korea in November to play four games against KBO players: Two at Busan’s Sajik Baseball Stadium and two at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome.

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association announced Thursday that the world tour will stop in Korea in mid-November, with games to be played in Busan on Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12.

The tour will then move to Seoul, with games scheduled at Gocheok on Monday, Nov. 14, and Tuesday, Nov. 15.

In a press release Friday, the KBO said that further details of the games, who will play and when tickets will be available will be announced soon, with an initial press conference scheduled in September.

The MLB World Tour Korea stop will mark the first time official games organized by the MLB to be played in Korea in 100 years, since the 1922 Asian Tour that included stops in China, Japan and Korea, which at the time was occupied by Japanese colonial forces.

The November games follow the MLB’s Home Run Derby X Seoul which will be held in Incheon in September.
