Naver sold more than 10 billion yen ($69.8 million) of webtoons and e-books in Japan in August for the first time.

The total came from Line Manga, a Japanese webtoon service, and eBookJapan, an e-book service acquired by Naver last March.

Both are operated by Line Digital Frontier, a Japanese subsidiary of Naver Webtoon owned 70 percent by Webtoon Entertainment, Naver’s webtoon subsidiary, and 30 percent by Naver Webtoon, a Webtoon Entertainment subsidiary.

Promotional events helped boost sales, especially for Korean webtoons such as “Marry My Husband,” “Viral Hit” and “Teenage Mercenary,” according to Naver Webtoon.

“Naver Webtoon will strive to solidify its position as a popular digital comics platform with the synergy between Line Manga and eBookJapan,” the company said in a press release.
