New confirmed Covid-19 cases jump to 34,739 in Korea

New confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Korea jumped to 34,739 Wednesday, doubling from the previous day, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
The steep increase is seen as due to the three-day weekend with National Foundation Day on Monday, after which people resumed testing for the virus.
The number of critically ill patients was 333, and there were 16 deaths.
The accumulative total of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Korea stands at 24,882,894.
