A Korean student was arrested as a suspect in the murder of a fellow student at a dormitory on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, on Wednesday.

A Purdue University spokesperson announced Wednesday that a murder took place early that morning at McCutcheon Hall, a dormitory on the western edge of the university’s campus.

The case was reported to police by the roommate of the student who was killed around 12:44 a.m. on the same day.

The roommate, a 22-year-old student from Korea majoring in cybersecurity named Sha Ji-min, was later taken into custody on a preliminary murder charge.
