[NETFLIX]

[NETFLIX]

Netflix Korea will help foster visual effects (VFX) artists and offer job opportunities as part of an educational program co-hosted by the streaming company and the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA).

Through the program, Netflix plans to foster over 300 VFX artists for immersive content by 2024 and provide opportunities for job seekers to experience on-site working environments at its affiliate Scanline VFX and partner companies Westworld and VA Mofac.

During the training period, participants will be provided with opportunities for consultation sessions with employees and will each be rewarded 1.7 million won ($1,300). Participants also have the chance to be hired by one of Netflix’s partner companies.

Netflix has been chosen as the first foreign company to take part as one of the companies to support the government-led “digital leading company academy” project to help educate 2-D and 3-D VFX artists and pipeline technical directors.

The digital leading company academy is part of a digital training program by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Korean Skills Quality Authority.

The first round of the program will kick off in December and run through June 2023. Submissions for the program can be made until Dec. 7 online.
