Woori Bank is launching a multilingual reservation service for foreign customers on Sundays, the bank announced Friday.

The service will be provided in 10 languages including Chinese, Indonesian and Thai and is part of an effort to increase convenience for foreign customers, Woori Bank said through a statement.

The service will initially only be available at five Woori Bank branches: in Ansan, Uijeongbu, Gwanghui-dong in central Seoul's Jung District, Gimhae and Baran near Hwaseong. Each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., services including wiring money overseas and exchanging currencies will be offered in different languages. It did not specify when exactly it will begin the service.

Foreign customers will need to make a reservation online in advance to make use of the service at these Woori Bank branches. They choose the specific branch, the date they wish to visit, which service they wish to receive and in what language. Customers will be notified prior to the appointment of any documents they need to prepare to bring for the service.

“With the multilingual reservation service on Sundays, we hope foreign customers can conveniently use our bank in their native languages and the frequent inconvenience of having to visit branches multiple times because they were not aware of the documents they needed for appointments will be resolved,” said a spokesperson for Woori Bank. “We will continue to make efforts to improve the convenience of our foreign customers.”
