Hana Life CEO nominated to be CEO of Hana Bank

A Hana Financial Group board committee selected Lee Seung-lyul, the CEO of Hana Life, as the new CEO at Hana Bank, announced the company on Wednesday.  
 
Lee will serve the role if the recommendation is approved by the board and shareholders. The date of the meeting has not yet been confirmed. Hana Financial Group did not confirm the term of the role, but said the term usually lasts two years.  
 
Born in 1963, Lee majored in economics at Seoul National University before starting work at the Korea Exchange Bank, which was acquired by Hana Financial Group in 2012.  
 
Lee has taken on numerous roles, including Chief Financial Officer at Hana Financial Group and Hana Bank and non-executive director at the bank.
 
Hana Financial Group said it expects Lee to improve communications based on his ability to manage risk and develop strategies.

The committee also recommended Kang Seong-muk, CEO at Hana Alternative Asset Management, as the new CEO at Hana Securities.  
 
Born in 1964, Kang studied sociology at Sogang University. After starting work at Hana Bank in 1993, Kang took on executive roles at Hana Bank and was a vice president at UBS Hana Asset Management.  
 
The committee said it believes Kang will help Hana Securities expand business in retail and wealth management, according to Hana Financial Group.

Lee Ho-seoung, deputy president and group head business group at Hana Bank, was recommended as the CEO of Hana Card. 
 
The committee noted his strong social networks and experience at bank branches. 
 
Born in 1964, Lee studied finance and real estate at Kyung Hee Cyber University.
