The new solo single by BTS member J-Hope, "on the street," topped music charts around the world upon its release on Friday.

The lo-fi hip-hop track took the No. 1 spot on iTunes' Top Song chart in 80 regions around the world, including Canada, Italy and Sweden. It also topped Japan's Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking on Friday immediately after release.

The song also landed on No. 16 of Spotify's Daily Top Song Global chart, with over 3 million streams as of Sunday morning.

The track, written and composed by J-Hope featuring U.S. rapper J. Cole, is his first single since his first full-length album "Jack In The Box" was released last July.

It was created with the motif of “walking on the streets, where people walk, breathe and feel a variety of emotions" to give a hopeful message regardless of hardships, according to J-Hope's agency BigHit Music.

The music video, which was also released Friday on YouTube, has been viewed over 11.5 million times as of Sunday afternoon.
