Prof. of Asan Medical Center is new president of APOA Hand and Upper Limb Society

Professor Jeon In-ho of Asan Medical Center has been appointed as the president of the Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association Hand and Upper Limb Society. [Asan Medical Center]

 
Professor Jeon In-ho from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Asan Medical Center was elected as the president of the Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association (APOA) Hand and Upper Limb Society at its recent general meeting. His term started in January of this year and will last for two years.
 
The APOA is an academic society with over 65,000 members from more than 40 countries, including Korea, China, Japan, Australia and Singapore. It promotes development in the field of orthopedics and consists of 12 divisions, including the newly established Hand and Upper Limb Division as well as Foot and Ankle, Hip Joint, Knee, and Spine divisions.
 
Prof. Jeon has been treating patients who suffer joint pathologies of shoulder and elbow at Asan Medical Center and taking the lead in relation to foreign patients’ services, serving as the director of Asan Medical International and Director of International Healthcare Center.  
 
He has also been involved in academic development in the field of shoulder and elbow both domestically and internationally, as the first Korean co-editor of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and the first Korean to be the chairperson of the Shoulder and Elbow Committee of the International Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology.
 
Prof. Jeon plans to share the latest knowledge and technology while cooperating with APOA members during the inaugural meeting and academic symposium of the APOA Hand and Upper Limb Society, which will take place in Seoul for two days starting on June 30th.
