Hyundai Motor, Kia offer donations for Hawaii residents impacted by wildfire

Hyundai Motor and Kia offered a combined $300,000 in donations for residents and communities affected by the recent wildfires in Maui, Hawaii, the carmakers said Friday.
Hyundai Motor America is donating a total of $150,000 to the American Red Cross and local charities in Hawaii, while also offering a relief program that will provide those affected by the Maui wildfire with $1,000 in support when purchasing a new Hyundai models rolled out in 2023 and 2024, and $2,000 for new 2023-2024 Genesis models.
Kia America also offered donations worth $100,000 to the American Red Cross and $500,000 for the Hawaii Community Foundation. Moreover, customers who affected by the wildfire will be given $1,000-cash rebate for new Kia cars rolled out in between 2023 and 2024.
“The island of Maui has been devastated by the recent wildfires and our thoughts are with the local and historic communities that are greatly impacted,” said José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America.
