Hyundai Motor hosts job fair for international students

Hyundai Motor hosted a job fair for international students.

The company, hoping to hire more foreign talent, held the Global Team Hyundai Talk on Sunday in Seongsu-dong in eastern Seoul, meeting 100 international students from 40 countries.

Foreign employees working at Hyundai Motor were invited to the session, talking about their career paths and what they do at work. The company also shared information on its recruitment plans and global businesses with the attendees.

"Parts of the event where we talked about Hyundai Motor's global business and corporate culture was especially well-received," Mario Corona, senior manager at Hyundai Motor, said. "The students were also interested in overall life in Korea and our experience working at the company headquarters."

According to a survey by Hyundai Motor, 89 percent of the attendees said they want to get a job in Korea, and 95 percent said they have become more willing to apply to work at Hyundai Motor in the future.

Hyundai Motor says it hopes to hire more foreign talent in the future.

"We hope to hire international students in Korea who have a thorough understanding of markets abroad and are fluent in multiple languages," a Hyundai Motor spokesperson said. "We plan to actively reach out to talented individuals to become a first mover leading the market."

The company has been hiring international students through its Asean H-Experience program since 2021, providing internship opportunities to students of Asean nationalities and offering full-time positions to outstanding interns.

It has also been annually hosting the Hyundai Vision Conference since last year, inviting students from abroad to Korea to explain Hyundai's business and recruitment plans.
