Musical 'Sister Act' opens ticket box for Seoul

Tickets to the Seoul run of the musical “Sister Act” opened Thursday afternoon.
Performances from Nov. 21 to Dec. 8 at D-cube Arts Center in Guro District, western Seoul, are open on ticketing platforms lnterpark, Melon Ticket, Yes24 Ticket and Ticket Link.
The musical will be performed in English.
More shows will become available over the next few months of performances through Feb. 11, 2024.
Tickets to the show in Busan, from Nov. 4 to 12, are also currently available.
EMK Musical Company is behind the upcoming international production of “Sister Act.” It is directed by Robert Johanson and will feature actors Nicole Vanessa Ortiz, Mary Gutzi, So Hyang “Sophie” Kim, Kat Capili, Jenna Rose Husli, Shannon Haddock, Christopher Scurlock and Kris Coleman in major roles.
The team is set to embark on a national tour hitting 15 cities through May 2024. EMK expects the show to begin its Asian tour from late 2024 to 2026.
The musical “Sister Act” is based on the 1992 movie of the same title starring Whoopi Goldberg. She plays the title role of Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer who ends up hiding in a convent, disguised as one of the sisters, after witnessing a murder by her gangster boyfriend Vince LaRocca. Although she struggles to adapt to life in a convent, Deloris builds true friendships with the other sisters as she joins the church choir, helping the nuns break free from convention and unleash their musical side.
Ticket prices for the Seoul performances range from 80,000 won ($60) to 170,000 won. There are 10 to 20 percent discounts for those who purchase before Oct. 9.
