Women's team earn Korea's first squash medal in Hangzhou

Korea earned its first squash medal of the Hangzhou Asian Games on Friday, losing 2-0 to Malaysia in the women's team semifinals but earning a bronze medal in the process.

Korea’s Eum Hwa-yeong, Lee Ji-hyun and Yang Yeon-soo were unable to put up much of a fight against the strong Malaysian squad, dropping all six games in the first two matches to lose 2-0 before Yang actually got a chance to step on to the court.

The women’s team semifinals marked the first medal events in squash at the Hangzhou Asian Games, with the gold medal games for both men’s and women’s team events to follow on Saturday.
