Korea wins second bronze medal in kurash

 
Jeong Jun-young took bronze after losing the men +90 kilogram semifinal to Tejenov Tejen of Turkmenistan on Saturday, winning Korea’s second medal in Asian Games kurash.
 
Jeong faced Tejen at Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China and suffered a 10-0 loss, missing a chance to earn Korea’s first-ever silver or gold medal in Asian Games kurash.  
 
In Asiad kurash, losers in the semifinals win an automatic bronze.

Kwon Jae-dong won Korea’s first-ever Asian Games medal in kurash, earlier in the day after a 10-0 loss to Shturbabin Artyom of Uzbekistan in the men -66kg semifinal.    
 
Kurash is a form of upright jacket wrestling native to Uzbekistan and became an official sport at the 2018 Asian Games. It is similar to judo, but a player cannot grab the opponent’s legs or pants.  
 
Korea competed in kurash at the 2018 Asiad but failed to secure a medal, while Uzbekistan secured the most medals at the 2018 Games, with 11.  
 
Jeong’s bronze wrapped up Saturday’s kurash schedule. Kurash matches will continue through Monday next week.
