K-pop star G-Dragon said on Friday that he has not used illegal drugs. 
 
The K-pop star issued a statement through his lawyer Friday and stated that he also has “nothing to do with the recent news reports about violating the Narcotics Control Act.”

 
Reports have been pouring out since Wednesday as the Incheon Police Agency revealed that it has opened an official investigation into G-Dragon concerning illegal drug use. The police however also stressed that the case is separate from the string of investigations related to actor Lee Sun-kyun’s drug use.

“I will actively cooperate with the police’s investigation as I know that many people are concerned,” G-Dragon said in the same statement from his lawyer.
 
G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, was previously questioned for marijuana use in 2011 by Korean prosectors but his indictment was suspended at the time after he confessed to inhaling the substances unintentionally.

 
G-Dragon debuted as a member of the boy band Big Bang in 2006, a five-member group under YG Entertainment. The boy band saw sensational success throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s.
