Book published to commemorate 35th year of Asean-Korea Dialogue Relations
The Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean)-Korea Centre said on Monday a Korean version of "Asean Centrality," written by Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, has been published to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Asean-Korea Dialogue Relations.
Buensuceso currently serves as an Eminent Person in the Philippines to the High-Level Task Force crafting Asean's vision for 2045. She is an experienced diplomat who served in Asean for more than a decade as the former Asean Senior Officials’ Meeting leader and chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives, as well as the former ambassador of the Philippines to Asean.
According to the center, the book shares her experiences with Asean-led mechanisms among member states and the history of the regional organization. The author further emphasizes that understanding Asean centrality will enhance multilateral cooperation.
“With the Korean government's Asean policy and the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Asean-Korea Dialogue Relationship, we look forward to deepening the relationship between the two regions and hope that this book will serve as an introduction to Asean for many people,” Secretary General of the Asean-Korea Centre Kim Hae-yong said.
The Korean version of the publication can be purchased online and in bookstores in Korea.
