A subway station named Samsung Galaxy has appeared in the financial district of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Samsung Electronics said Monday it has partnered with the city's metro company MRT to name one of the city's subway stations as TRX Samsung Galaxy Station from Feb. 29.

This new name will be effective for the upcoming year.

The TRX subway station, as well as the interior and exterior of the subway trains passing through it, have been wrapped with a promotional banner for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy AI.

TRX station is one of the key financial districts of Kuala Lumpur concentrated with global financial companies as well as large-scale shopping malls. It is also a transit point where two lines — Kazjang and Putrajaya — meet with an average of 380,000 people using the station daily.

Malaysia is a top smartphone market for Samsung Electronics in terms of shipments with high growth potential on premium product lines.

Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong was spotted visiting a local Samsung Electronics shop last month during his business trip to Samsung SDI's battery manufacturing plants in Malaysia.
