Dating rumors between actors Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol sparked after the two were seen in Hawaii together.

A post in Japanese with the caption “popular Korean actors are next to me at the hotel pool” and the tags “'Reply 1988’” and “'Nevertheless’” went viral on Friday morning. It did not contain a picture of the two together and was deleted by Friday afternoon.

Ryu shot to stardom through “Reply 1988” (2015-2016) while Han played the lead role in “Nevertheless” (2021).

Both Han and Ryu’s agencies responded to the rumors later on the day. Though they confirmed that the two were in Hawaii, Han’s agency said the two were “not dating.”

“It is true that Ryu Jun-yeol is currently staying in Hawaii, to take photos,” Ryu’s agency C-JeS Entertainment said.

“Please respect the fact that it is not part of the actor’s public schedule but a personal trip.”

“We will not separately respond to such eyewitness accounts in the future,” C-JeS Entertainment added.

Han’s agency 9ATO Entertainment said Han had “gone on a trip with close girlfriends” for her “first vacation since her debut.” She is not dating Ryu, the agency told local media outlets, and also asked for respect for the actor’s privacy.

Han indirectly addressed the dating rumors by uploading a photo of her wearing matching friendship bracelets with two other people on Friday.

Han and Ryu had publicly showed off their friendship last year. Han visited Ryu’s photo exhibition “A Wind Runs Through It and Other Stories” in November 2023.

The two actors have both been offered roles for the upcoming drama series “Delusion,” an adaptation of a webtoon of the same name.
