Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC)'s business philosophy is "An honest company, a conscious company, a company that grows together."

The country's leading ginseng company aims to achieve mutual prosperity with its customers, employees, franchises and ginseng growers, while participating in various social contribution activities to benefit society as a whole.

Since 2011, KGC has been operating the Jung Kwan Jang Fund, which is based on a grant-matching program contributed to voluntary by its employees and the company itself.
The funds donated by the employees are matched by the corporation, doubling the contribution amount.

KGC is putting this fund toward multiple charitable purposes.

In particular, the Make and Share Kimchi activity, an annual winter event, sparks the joy of volunteer work as employees and others take part in the occasion.

Last year, these collective efforts resulted in the successful delivery of kimchi and Jung Kwan Jang red ginseng products to regional work places, such as Daejeon's Daedeok District, Chungnam's Buyeo County and Gangwon's Wonju, and approximately 2,000 households in Seoul.

The Jung Kwan Jang Fund supports the medical expenses of the underprivileged in need of continual treatment.

Major beneficiaries include surgery costs for children with leukemia, pediatric dental treatment expenses, renal surgery costs for disabled individuals, and hearing aid purchases for senior citizens who live alone.

KGC also implemented Naver's Happy Bean Double Donation method, enabling consumers to participate in numerous charitable opportunities.

In this donation method as well, for every donation made by the people online, the company also contributes the same amount, effectively doubling the donation.

During traditional holidays such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok harvest holiday, KGC conducts a Filial Piety Delivery campaign for elderly individuals who live alone.

Lunar New Year's day this year marked another fruitful resolution of the campaign.
Elderly people living alone and in the low-income bracket received a Full Filial Piety Package consisting of health goods and traditional Korean holiday foods, along with KGC's red ginseng products — 200 million won's worth of which was donated by the company.

Since 2021, KGC has been sponsoring the donation of Jung Kwan Jang products to persons of national merit and their descendents, in order to honor patriots and veterans while also promoting the company.

The company recently distributed Jung Kwan Jang products to 3,000 individuals composed of Korean War veterans and their spouses, and is looking to broaden the range of its recipients.

In collaboration with the international humanitarian organization World Vision, KGC has been leading a significant global sponsorship project called the “Go, Hong-yi!” campaign since 2017.

The previous two campaigns focused on constructing drinkable water infrastructure such as water tanks, pump houses and water fountains in Tanzania and Rwanda.

These endeavors provided an estimated 20,000 people with access to clean water.

In October 2022, KGC launched the third season of its “Go, Hong-yi!” campaign and initiated a child nutrition support businesses in Vietnam.

The company provided lunches and nutritional supplements to malnourished children under the age of five in Vietnam's most impoverished regions, Huong Hoa and Da Krong.

KGC established food facilities in 22 kindergartens, providing lunches five days a week and essential nutrition supplements.

The company also focused on creating a sustainable environment that could accommodate food supply and demand by assisting the implementation of vegetable gardens while educating teachers and guardians on nutrition.

An estimated 750 children and locals benefited from these efforts.

Moreover, KGC delivered 1 billion won ($750 million) worth of its red ginseng products through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In response to the damage caused by torrential rainfalls last summer, the corporation exerted its utmost effort to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

By providing 100 million won worth of Jung Kwan Jang red ginseng products and a donation of 20 million won from the Jung Kwan Jang Fund, the company took action to facilitate a swift recovery for farms and evacuees affected by the disaster.

"KGC's business objective is for customers, the company and society to become healthier together," a representative from KGC said. "We will continue to strive for the betterment of our society through various collaborations for mutual prosperity and social contribution activities, so that everyone in our society can become healthier in the future."
