The golf cart carrying four female workers toppled over after colliding with a rock on the ground at 10:24 p.m. A truck driver noticed the upended cart and tried to pull over to help, but instead slipped on the road and hit the cart.
Of the four female workers on the cart, two died. One was crushed by the truck and the other was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The two other female workers, a truck driver and a passenger on the truck, were also injured after being hit by the skidding truck.
All six people involved were outsourced workers from a subcontractor. On Saturday night, they were on their way for overnight golf course maintenance work.
The police conducted a crime scene investigation on Sunday morning.
The authorities' investigation is underway to determine whether the trucker was at fault and to review the application of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, the law holding employers liable for safety accidents at workplaces.
The golf course in Busan shut down its operations for the time being in light of the accident.
