Doosan, IBM to enhance ties in digital solutions

Doosan Group, Korea's construction equipment-to-fuel cell systems conglomerate, said Sunday it will enhance its partnership with U.S. tech giant IBM in digital solutions.

Doosan has cooperated with IBM to establish the enterprise resource planning system in compact equipment manufacturer Doosan Bobcat, adopt operational technology security solutions in the group and set up an artificial intelligence strategy, the company said in a statement.

Doosan is seeking digitalization in plant builder Doosan Enerbility, robot solutions provider Doosan Robotics and other affiliates, it said.

For an extended partnership, Doosan Group Vice Chairman Park Ji-won visited IBM's quantum computing research and development center on April 4 to discuss cooperation in quantum computing technologies.

Tech firms such as IBM, Microsoft and Alphabet's Google are in a race to develop quantum computers, which will be far faster than conventional computers in processing massive amounts of information.
