Everland releases photos of Fu Bao's twin siblings celebrating 100 days
Despite lacking the superstar status of their older sister Fu Bao, who recently left Korea for China on April 3, twin pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao have also attracted attention at Everland, which released new photos of the panda siblings on Friday.
The amusement theme park and zoo in Yongin, Gyeonggi, where Fu Bao used to reside, released the photos to celebrate 100 days since the pandas were first revealed to the public.
“We decided to release the photographs to mark this day,” said a spokesperson from Everland.
The released photographs show Rui Bao and Hui Bao playing together, getting fed together and being looked after by zookeeper Song Yeong-gwan.
Everland said some 600,000 people visited so far to see the twin pandas since they were revealed to the public on Jan. 4.
Rui Bao and Hui Bao are Korea’s first naturally bred giant panda twins. They were born on July 7 of last year at Everland. The names of the pandas were chosen through a public selection process to celebrate the twins' 100th day since birth in October last year.
Rui Bao means "wise treasure," and Hui Bao means "shining treasure."
They were born at 180 grams (0.39 pounds) and 140 grams each, but now both weigh over 25 kilograms.
