Supertone, an AI audio startup acquired by HYBE, has launched an open beta version for its real-time voice converter that enables users to change their voices to those of 10 different game characters.

Known as “Supertone Shift,” the service can be downloaded for free on the company's official website until June 26.

Shift analyzes the user’s spoken voice for 10 seconds, and based on an analysis, converts it to game characters in real time as the user speaks.

Shift’s technology is enabled through Supertone’s voice synthesis foundation model Nansy, short for neural Analysis and Synthesis. Supertone has reduced the delay of the converted voice to 47 milliseconds, allowing speakers to transmit in real time.

Converted voices can be customized by adjusting the volume, pitch, intonation or even the mix ratio between a user’s voice and the selected voice.

Supertone believes that Shift will be widely utilized by content creators such as virtual YouTubers or streamers, as well as gamers and cosplayers seeking to enhance engagement with their content.

“The primary goal of this open beta is to collect various opinions to make Shift easily accessible to production companies and creators,” Supertone CEO Lee Kyo-gu said. “In the official version, we plan to expand the number of voice samples and add more features useful for content creation, making Shift the optimal voice creation tool for all.”
