Tom Kim joins field for Genesis Scottish Open

Rising star Tom Kim has signed on to compete at the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in Scotland in July alongside PGA veterans Xander Schauffele and Robert MacIntyre.

The Scottish Open is a co-sanctioned event by the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, which has seen a world-class field with multiple PGA champions.  
 
For 21-year-old Kim, this year will be his third at the Genesis Scottish Open, after impressing with a third-place finish in Scotland in 2022, followed by a tied sixth-place finish in 2023.  
 
“The Genesis Scottish Open has so much history and I’ve loved playing at the Renaissance Club the last couple of years, Kim said in a press release on Thursday. “I’ve had some good results, and it sets me up nicely the week before The Open, so I’m excited to spend a couple of weeks in Scotland this July.”  
 
For Schauffele, it will be a chance to win a second title at the tournament, after 2022.

“I’m looking forward to coming back to the Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open," Schauffele said. “Winning in Scotland a couple years ago was amazing, there is so much history to the game in this country and the fans really got behind me, so it was a very special moment in my career.”  
 
Schauffele already has seven top-10 finishes to his name this season, but yet to win a title on the 2024 PGA Tour. The Scottish Open in 2022 remains the last title he secured on the Tour.  
 
MacIntyre, meanwhile, will make his sixth straight appearance at the Scottish Open after narrowly missing out the title last year, when he finished as a runner-up after falling one stroke behind defending champions Rory McIlory, who will also return to the field this year.

The Scottish Open will run from July 11 to July 14.
