Consumer burdens are expected to increase as the prices of processed food, beverages and franchise food such as chocolate, coke, soda, gim (dried seaweed) and soy sauce products surge.
Food and beverage companies emphasized that the price hikes are inevitable due to rising material costs, as well as increased risks associated with oil prices and a rise in the won-dollar exchange rate, resulting in a depreciation of the local currency.
