FC Midtjylland striker Cho Gue-sung gave an excited, expletive-laden reaction to winning the 2023-24 Danish Superliga title on Sunday, lifting the trophy in his debut season abroad.

FC 미트윌란 공격수 조규성이 지난 일요일 (5월 26일) 그의 해외 무대 데뷔 시즌인 2023-24 덴마크 수페르리가가 우승한 것에 대해 흥분하며 욕설이 가득한 반응을 보였다.

An interviewer caught the 26-year-old firsttime title-holder on the pitch in a crowd of supporters.

인터뷰 진행자는 경기장에서 팬들 속에 있던 우승자 조규성(26)을 발견하고 질문했다.

“Yeah, I can’t believe it now. So now actually I’m dream now. I’m dreaming, so [expletive] amazing fans and [expletive] our team coaching staff and [expletive] teammates,” Cho said, screaming into the microphone.

조규성은 마이크에 괴성을 지르며 “믿을 수 없다. 꿈을 꾸고 있고, 정말 [욕설] 팬들과 [욕설] 우리 팀 코치진 그리고 [욕설] 팀 동료 다 굉장하다” 고 말했다.

“We are champion!” Cho cheered.

그는 “우리는 챔피언”이라고 환호성을 질렀다.

The interviewer asked Cho about what it meant to be standing with the fans after the win.

인터뷰 진행자는 리그 우승을 하고 팬들과 함께 서 있는 것이 그에게 어떤 의미인지도 물었다.

“Yeah, I love it! I love it because, I love you fans and everything,” Cho said, turning to the fans, many of them kids and teens, surrounding him.

조규성은 팬들 쪽으로 돌아서며 “정말 너무 좋다. 왜냐면 팬들을 사랑하고 모든 것이 너무 좋다”고 말했다. 당시 그를 에워싼 팬 중엔 어린이와 10대들도 다수 포함돼 있었다.

When asked if he believed before the game that Midtjylland could pull off winning the league title, Cho said: “No actually we have to win before game, so we are [expletive] great performance. It was first half, two-nil, still loss, but we never, we never, we never — don’t give up. We never. We never. So, we won.

미트윌란이 일요일 경기 시작 전엔 리그 우승을 차지할 수 있을 것으로 생각했냐는 질문에는 그는 “아니다. 사실 경기 전에 꼭 이겨야 하는데 [욕설] 좋은 경기력을 보였다. 전반전에 2대0으로 지고 있었다. 하지만 우리는 절대 절대 포기하지 않았고 결국 승리했다”고 답했다.

“Every game, every game win. I want to win,” Cho said. “Next season, we go to Champions League.”

그는 이어 “경기 하나 하나 다 이기고 싶다. 다음 시즌에 우리는 챔피언스리그로 간다”고 했다.
