The action crime film "I, The Executioner" revolves around veteran detective Seo Do-cheol, portrayed by actor Hwang Jung-min, who appeared in the previous film, and a new team member, Park Sun-woo, played by actor Jung Hae-in, as they chase after a serial killer.
“I, The Executioner” was invited to the 77th Cannes International Film Festival’s Midnight Screening category in May. It had its first-ever screening and received a 10-minute standing ovation.
"Veteran," which premiered on Aug. 5, 2015, garnered 13 million moviegoers and is the fifth highest-grossing Korean film ever. The film follows the story of Do-cheol and his team investigating a case involving a demonic heir, Tae-oh, played by Yoo Ah-in.
Ryoo is also set to shoot a new film, “Humint,” alongside a star-studded cast that includes Zo In-sung, Park Jeong-min, Park Hae-joon and Nana.
