Delivery services for food and light daily necessities using unmanned drones will begin next month across 32 select islands and 17 parks throughout the country, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Tuesday.

The island regions where drone deliveries will take place include Mara Island, Gapa Island in Jeju and Geumo Island in South Jeolla. Select islands in other provinces, including South Chungcheong and South Gyeongsang, are also included.

The select park areas include the Tancheon and Jungang parks in Gyeonggi, as well as park zones in other provinces, including North Gyeongsang, North Jeolla and South Gyeongsang.

Main items for delivery will include food, such as chicken and pizza, as well as daily necessities, with a weight limit of 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds). In some island regions, locally produced goods will be delivered to the mainland via drones, the ministry said.
