Boosted by the yogurt ice cream craze among the younger generation, convenience store chain GS25's Yoajung Parfait has become the top-selling ice cream product, surpassing the longstanding champion, World Cone.

Yoajung Parfait, a yogurt ice cream jointly developed by GS25 and Yoajung, Korea's popular yogurt ice cream franchise, has set a new sales record. GS25 announced on Friday that Yoajung Parfait sold more than 200,000 units within its first week of release, generating daily revenues exceeding 100 million won ($73,560).

Anticipating even higher demand, GS25 plans to expand production to meet an expected sales volume of more than 1 million units.

Featuring a creamy yogurt base, honey syrup and chocolate balls, Yoajung Parfait offers a unique and indulgent treat. With 60 percent less air incorporated, it boasts a rich and chewy texture. Priced at 3,500 won, the parfait has quickly become a favorite among young consumers, ranging from children to those in their 30s.

Another product in GS25’s Yoajung series, Yoajung Honey Granola Greek Yogurt, which launched on Thursday, has also seen impressive initial sales. First-day orders for the product exceeded the combined total of all other drinkable yogurt products in GS25, indicating strong consumer interest in the "Yoajung Series." The company plans to further expand the Yoajung-branded product line to include bakery items and desserts in addition to the already-released ice cream, beverages and dairy products.

“We are thrilled that our long-term research and development efforts to bring a trendy yogurt ice cream product to GS25 customers have been so well-received,” said Jung Ku-min, development manager of GS Retail’s beverage team. “We will continue to expand our collaborations with popular trendsetting brands to establish GS25 as a platform for the latest and greatest flavors.”
