A concert to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of singer Shin Hae-chul will be held on Oct. 26 and 27 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon.

Co-organized by N.EX.T United and Dreamus Company, "Mawang 10th: Ghost Stage" will feature performances of Shin's music by his fellow musicians as a tribute to the late singer's esteemed career on the Korean music scene.

"We are planning the concert to be a place of happiness rather than sadness and solemnity," the organizers said. "We hope to give joy to both the audience and musicians."

Shin, born in 1968, is one of the biggest names in Korean music history, with more than 30 studio albums.

Shin and his group Muhangwedo debuted in 1988 on TV in the annual singing competition hosted by MBC, winning the grand prize with the rock song “To You.” Shin, who was a college sophomore at the time, wrote and composed the song. After Muhangwedo, Shin performed as the lead vocalist for the rock group N.EX.T.

He died on Oct. 27, 2014, due to malpractice by his doctor Kang Se-hoon, who was later sentenced to a year in prison in 2018 by the Supreme Court.
