The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday predicted Korea’s economy will expand 3.5 percent this year, an improvement over the 3.3 percent projected in December.
Exports surged nearly 70 percent in the first 10 days of the month thanks to strong demand for Korea's major products, especially semiconductors.
The Korean economy crawled out of a recession in the third quarter thanks to a boost from exports. Whether positive growth can be maintained is a big question as the pandemic rages on in Korea's big export markets including the United States.
