The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Korean forced labor victims on Thursday in two cases separate from the landmark case dating back to 2012, ordering Japanese companies Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Nippon Steel to compensate the victims.
Lee Hwa-young, former deputy Gyeonggi governor, was arrested on charges of accepting bribes from underwear company SsangBangWool in return for business favors.
