Crackdown on Viagra

Korean Food and Drugs Administration (KFDA), the prosecutor's office, and the police started the first joint crackdown on illegal distribution of Viagra. KFDA revealed on September 24 that Viagra is being smuggled into certain areas of Seoul including Namdaemoon market (the largest traditional Korean market) after it was permitted to be sold in the U.S.
The growth of Viagra sales is so fast that advertisements are being distributed in residential areas to the south of Han River. KFDA is looking into large smuggling organizations intervening in Viagra distribution and is investigating imported goods shops. A source at KFDA said, 'The Customs Administration (CA) permitted a bottle per person. However the quantity of smuggled Viagra may amount to a tremendous number because CA do not inspect all arrivals.'
