O-157 Discovered 3 Years Ago
The dreaded 0-157 bacteria, a kind of colitis germs, turned out to be already discovered 3 years ago in Chonan's Soonchonhyang Hospital.Doctor Hong Se Yong of the hospital on November 11 said, 'In June 1995 a one month old male baby was infected with the 0-157 bacteria and died rather suddenly.'
He reported this fact to an October 1997 spring seminar together with Doctor Lee Hye Kyong, and even published the fact in an academic magazine, thereafter.
The dead boy suffered from severe dehydration and a bad kidney. Officials reported the cause of death to be 0-157 at that time.
