International Classroom on the Internet
An international classroom began on the Internet. At 6:00 p.m. on December 2, international classes called the 'Asia Europe Classroom', in which 23 member countries in Asia and Europe participate, started. This program is a kind of international classroom established in cyber-space. In this class, students can communicate with one another and receive lectures from teachers.
Last May, the Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF) met in Copenhagen, Denmark and passed a resolution to open this class. Oh Jae Hee, the foundation's Korean representative, said, 'This class is aimed at providing a space for international, youth communications for the partnership of Asia and Europe in the 21st century.'
High school students from the 23 member countries can participate in this class. Any student can enter this school whenever he or she clicks the icon of 'AEC' at the ASEF's site on the Internet. The address is http://www.asef.org.
