New Kidney Donor Program

Families in need of a kidney can receive a new matching kidney if a family member agrees to donate another kidney to a more suitable donor outside the family. Under this new system the supply of kidneys can be more easily be maintained. Priest Jang Bong Hwan (46), helped the new program by offering one of his own kidneys as suggested by the Headquarters of Human Organ Donation For Love(HHODL).
The Kidney donation exchange program will begin after Jang's kidney is transplanted to a woman patient, Kang Ok Shim (53) who is suffering from kidney failure, in Jeonnam University Hospital on April 1st.
The next day, Cha Myeong Gi, Kang's husband will donate his kidney to another woman patient named Jeon Suk Soon (40) in Dongsan Medical Center, Daegu. Lee Soon Gi, Jeon's younger sister-in-law, also will donate a kidney to Kim Jae Young in Baek Hospital, Busan on April 1st. Kim Jung Hee, Kim jae young's wife also will donate her kidney to Lim Jong Hwa in Gil Hospital, Incheon on April 7.
An official at the HHODL said that these donations, which many families participated in, have seldom been seen in the world.
