Social Organizations Pound Prosecution

Seventy-six social and civil organizations, including the Citizen's Coalition of Economic Justice (CCEJ), staged a rally in front of Hanvit Bank's Myongdong branch on June 9, severely criticizing the prosecution.
The groups stated, 'The government should arrest those who were related with the instigated strike by the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KMSPC)'s labor union - such as unseated Justice Minister Kim Tae Jong, Senior Prosecutor Jin Hyong Ku and KMSPC's President Kang Hee Bok.'
They added, 'Political sectors also must exercise the right to investigate suspicious national occurances including the 'Clothes Scandal', and President Kim Dae Jung should apologize to the people.'
In addition to that, labor union members of the National Metallergical Industries Association under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference at Myongdong Cathedral Wednesday. They said, 'The prosecution purposely instigated the radical walkout and we will keep fighting against this illegitimate misuse of power and maintain our right to survive.'
