Phone Service for Foreigners

Foreigners visiting Korea would do well to remember the number 1330, the new tourism information service phone number, which begins operating September 20.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday, foreign tourists by simply dialing the number 1330 from any phone within 22 major Korean cities will be able to speak to an operator who can translate Korean into English, Japanese or Chinese and vice versa.
The localities are Seoul, Taegu, Inchon, Kwangju, Taejon, Ulsan, Suwon, Choonchon, Sokcho, Kangnung, Chungju, Puyo, Chunju, Kyongju, Changwon, Cheju, Yongin, Ichon, Namwon, Puan, Pusan and Kongju.
The service operates from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
