Candidate's Homepage Attacked by Hacker

A candidate in the general election has complained that his homepage has been attacked by a hacker. Police have set out to investigate.

Yoon Young-tak, a member of the Grand National Party running for the Sooseung Eul region of Taegu, filed criminal charges against the as yet unknown hacker on April 2 at Taegu local police department and asked them to investigate. "A hacker broke into our homepage, paralyzed the system, and erased letters," said a party official.

A member of the party explained that a netizen who goes by the name of 'Taeguin' had posted an unfavorable letter on Yoon's homepage on March 28, which read "Yoon Young-tak is not a specialist in economics but in corrupt politics."

According to party members, after they asked the netizen to refrain from writing and erased his letters, "The netizen again broke in to write that 'Yoon has been misbehaving and has even erased letters without permission.'"

The police decided to investigate Yoon's rival candidates and people around him.
