Tax Breaks for Self-Employed
The government is considering a tax cut for self-employed businessmen whose tax burdens have increased as they used their credit cards more often, the Finance Ministry said Friday.A ministry official said the government will finalize the details of the proposed tax break for the self-employed immediately after proprietor income-tax forms are filed next month.
The move comes as the government attempts to map out the big picture for taxation policy for the next five years. A ministry official said the government would announce the new taxation measures next month.
In order to boost the slowing economy, the ministry is also considering extending a temporary 10-percent tax reduction on companies' facility investments.
