LG Electronics to return to black
LG Electronics Inc. has forecast it will soon show a profit for the first time since 2001, after the launch of its plasma display panel (PDP) television business. “We recorded a 13 percent share in the global PDP market last year,” said an LG Electronics official. “Not only that, our exports to Europe and the United States are sharply increasing. In the case of 42-inch PDP television products, our brand accounted for almost 90 percent of sales, putting us on course to record a profit in the first quarter of this year.” The company has set a goal to sell 1.6 million products and achieve a 25 percent global market share this year.
