Intel, Samsung ranked 1, 2 in semiconductor sales value
Samsung Electronics ranked second in the world last year in the value of semiconductor sales, according to iSuppli, an electronics market research company. Samsung Electronics posted $9.7 billion in sales last year, 5 percent of the world market. Hynix’s sales increased by 28 percent during the year, boosting its ranking to 16th. Intel took 15 percent of the market to lead the industry.
